Prior to founding Bay Area Furniture Bank, Ray held key leadership roles as a Senior Sales Executive with international experience. He led sales operations and marketing functions for small and large technology companies including Xerox, Apple, Autodesk and Hilti. Ray also served 27 years in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator, while holding positions of senior command. Ray holds a BS from Boston College. He’s originally from New Haven, CT, but has been living in our local community since 1969. When not at BAFB, Ray loves to play catch with Rusty, his Labradoodle.
Director of Operations
Valérie is a Sunnyvale-based community builder, education advocate, former classroom educator, super volunteer and all-around angel dedicated to supporting her local community. She has volunteered for 18 years at the Sunnyvale Armory and has served hot meals at the Sunnyvale Cold Weather Shelter. She is the Chair of her community of 1,400 homes and a Community Emergency Response Team captain. For her commitment to creating better communities, she received the Sunnyvale Outstanding Community Volunteer award in 2017. Valérie is passionate about opera and about keeping this art form alive. In her spare time, she can be spotted leading groups to live performances around the Bay Area and is often found sewing in various opera house costume shops.
Professional Driver Extraordinaire
Towering at 6ft 4in., Richard drive nearly 2 million miles as owner operator for 3way van lines specialist in high teck trade-shows and computer systems. Richard’s greatest joy now is watching the faces of young children when they get a second change after we deliver furniture to their new living quarters. When not on the road, you can find Richard on a golf course,, a sport he picked up in high school.
